I am a native of Toronto with an international career designing and developing buildings and spaces for people to live and work in healthy communities. I believe a designer needs to sculpt space to the needs of the people and stakeholders that it serves. Architecture should always have passion and meaning and be connected to its environment.
I also believe that buildings and spaces should be environmentally coherent, functional, and beautiful.

Our team provides advice through the whole design and development process. From pre-purchase decisions, financial modelling and design, through to tendering and construction. Over 40 years of international experience is available for your project.
PLANNING - APPROVALS
The development process can often be a sea of red tape. We help you navigate the approval processes with a team of experts to try and achieve the highest and best use for a given site.
Current challenges in the marketplace from COVID-19 are changing the way business can and will be done going forward. This has brought new challenges with getting government approvals and providing a safe environment for the design and approval process. We offer a variety of interactive systems to keep you and our team safe while executing your project.
DESIGN
Our team are experienced and expert designers and artists. We believe in natural light, natural materials and sustainable development. Great design is great design! Whether traditional and historical in every detail or cutting edge modern spaces, we design for the specific client and community needs.
John Formosa design group specializes in custom homes and low scale multi-family projects. Each space for each client is individually crafted to how our client’s live, work and play. Whether a renovation, infill development or a sprawling multi acre agricultural property with environmental considerations, our team is experienced in each type of project.
DEVELOPMENT
We have been on many job sites in our over 40 years of experience. We know how to deal with the coordination of multiple design and engineering professionals, contractors, government officials and community stakeholders in order to facilitate the successful execution of a project.
